How to care for and wash your silk products?
Silk is a delicate and precious natural material. Proper care will preserve its softness, shine, and longevity.
Before washing, carefully read the care label. More delicate items can be dry cleaned. The others can be washed by hand or machine, following these instructions.
Washing Silk
Hand Washing
– Water temperature below 30°C
– Use a special silk detergent or a mild liquid detergent
– Do not use bleach
Machine Washing
– Silk or wool program (most delicate cycle) at a maximum of 30°C
– Use a liquid detergent without bleaching agents
– Do not use powdered detergent
Tip to preserve brightness
Add a few drops of white vinegar to the rinse water to revive the colors.
Never wring silk.
After washing, gently roll the item in a terry towel to absorb excess water, then lay it flat to dry on a clean, dry towel.
– Never use a tumble dryer
– Do not dry in direct sunlight
– Do not place on a radiator
– Dry flat only
Ironing Silk
– Iron inside out
– Low temperature (silk program)
– Use a protective cloth if necessary
How to remove a stain from silk?
Gently dab the stain with a clean cloth.
Never rub vigorously, as this could damage the fibers.
